The Rafto Prize Events 2024

The Rafto Prize 2024 is awarded to Cuban artist and activist Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara for his fearless opposition to authoritarianism through art. Each year we invite you to join the celebration of the Rafto Laureate in Bergen and online. These are the dates for the Rafto Prize events taking place in November 2024:

The Rafto Conference
Saturday 9 November at 11:00

University Aula, Bergen (and online)

Join our conference either in-person or online. The conference will shed light on and discuss human rights challenges related to this year's Rafto Prize. Free of charge and open for everyone to attend.

Torchlight procession for human rights
Sunday 10 November at 19:15

Outside The National Stage, Bergen

After the Rafto Award Ceremony there will be a torchlight procession, departuring from Den Nationale Scene.Appeal by the student leaders right after the procession ends.
